Donate an ATV, UTV, or Side-by-Side in Hawaii

Join Island Wheels in Hawaii by donating your ATV, UTV, or side-by-side to empower our community and promote outdoor adventures.

Living in Hawaii, you know how vital outdoor adventures are for exploring our beautiful islands. Whether it's a thrilling ride through lush forests or a leisurely journey along scenic trails, your ATV, UTV, or side-by-side can bring joy and excitement to many. Unfortunately, some of these vehicles outlive their owners or may not be used as much as before. That's where your generous donation can make a difference.

At Island Wheels, we are dedicated to supporting the community with every vehicle donation. By choosing to donate your ATV or UTV, you help us promote recreational opportunities, support local initiatives, and encourage outdoor activity across the islands. Each donation, whether it’s a well-loved Honda FourTrax or a rugged Polaris RZR, contributes significantly to our mission of enhancing the experience of outdoor enthusiasts.

What we see in this class

How pickup works

When it comes to picking up your donated ATV, UTV, or side-by-side, we work efficiently to ensure a smooth process. Typically, we utilize a small flatbed truck or trailer for transportation, ensuring your vehicle is handled with care. For off-road-only vehicles without a title, we'll guide you through the necessary paperwork, including a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) and a bill of sale. If you’re located on one of the islands, our team will coordinate with you directly to schedule a pickup at a time that suits you best. Additionally, if you have a utility trailer you'd like to donate, we can accept that as well!

What drives donation value

The donation value of your ATV or UTV can be influenced by several key factors. Generally, the hours of operation matter more than mileage on four-stroke ATVs, so a well-maintained vehicle with documented service records will yield a higher value. Models like the Polaris RZR and Can-Am UTVs tend to hold their value strongly in the used market. However, expect some depreciation for cosmetic issues like dents or faded plastics. Even non-running units can retain positive parts value, which can also contribute to the overall donation value.

Documentation you need

Hawaii specifics

In Hawaii, the DMV has specific guidelines for off-road vehicles like ATVs and UTVs. Generally, these vehicles may not require a state title; instead, a bill of sale may suffice. This can simplify the donation process for vehicles that are not street-legal. At Island Wheels, we are familiar with local regulations and are here to ensure you have all the necessary documentation for a seamless donation experience.

FAQ

Do I need a title to donate my ATV?
For many off-road vehicles, a title is not required. Instead, we can work with a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) and a bill of sale.
What if my ATV is not running?
Even if your ATV is not operational, it can still be a valuable donation. We accept non-running units and can work with you on the appraisal.
Can I donate a UTV with cosmetic damage?
Yes! While cosmetic issues may affect the value slightly, a UTV with some wear and tear can still be beneficial for our community programs.
Do you accept golf carts?
Absolutely! We accept both gas and electric golf carts, so feel free to donate if you have one you no longer need.
Is there a specific pickup process for UTVs?
Our pickup process for UTVs is straightforward. We schedule a pickup time that works for you, using a flatbed truck or trailer for safe transportation.
How can I determine the value of my donated vehicle?
The value can depend on various factors, including the vehicle's make, model, condition, and maintenance history. Well-documented service records often lead to better valuations.
What documents do I need for a classic ATV donation?
For classic ATVs, you will need an appraisal (IRS Form 8283 Section B) from a qualified appraiser, along with any service records you may have.
